One independent clinic with its own denturist

Heron Park Dental has looked after households in the Alta Vista part of Ottawa for more than twenty-five years, and states plainly that it has no branches and no franchises — one clinic, one team. Patients come from across the city and from Gatineau. Beside the dentists and hygienists the practice keeps a denturist on staff, Jacques Necolas, an honours graduate of George Brown College, so dentures are built and adjusted in house.

Services

Routine care covers examinations, radiographs, hygiene visits, fillings and gum disease treatment. Dr. Grewal, licensed in Ontario since 2017 and a member of the RCDSO and the Ontario Dental Association, handles root canals, crowns and bridges and oral surgery, and works easily with children and older patients. Dr. Elahe Memari concentrates on cosmetic and prosthodontic work and is certified in composite and porcelain veneers. Alignment runs through Invisalign or conventional braces; implants and whitening round out the list. The clinic joins the Canadian Dental Care Plan and bills most insurers directly.

Veneers that leave the enamel alone

The practice works with Lumineers, porcelain shells about 0.3 mm thick against roughly 0.5 mm for a conventional veneer. At that thickness the shell sits on the tooth without the enamel being ground down first, so the work can be reversed later and the natural tooth stays whole.

Emergencies and nervous patients

Walk-ins are assessed case by case, with same-day treatment for pain, swelling, infection and broken teeth, and an emergency number that runs around the clock. Nitrous oxide is there for people who have put a visit off for months out of fear; it is breathed through a small nose mask and clears quickly once the mask comes off.
