TMD and orofacial pain

Dr. William Butterfield built this side of the clinic. Assessment starts with the joint and the bite; treatment runs through occlusal splints, occlusal adjustment and Botox injections that relax the jaw muscles. He belongs to the American Academy of Orofacial Pain and the Canadian Society of Medical Evaluators, and Canadian insurers retain him to assess jaw disorders claimed after motor-vehicle collisions — a credential rarely found in a family practice.

Services

Restorative care covers crowns, bridges, fillings, inlays and onlays, root canals, non-surgical periodontal therapy and full, partial or implant-supported dentures. Preventive hygiene includes oral cancer screening and fluoride. Cosmetic work runs to veneers and whitening, previewed through Digital Smile Design. Orthodontics covers metal and ceramic braces and Spark clear aligners with phone-based virtual monitoring. Implant surgery is referred to an oral surgeon, and the crown, bridge or All-on-4 restoration that finishes the case is placed here.

Dentists

Dr. Michel Jean, a Laval graduate and partner since 2005, practises interceptive orthodontics with children and aligner treatment with adults, and belongs to the International Association of Orthodontics. Dr. Matthew Mailloux practised in northern Ontario and Nunavut with First Nations and Inuit communities before moving to Ottawa. Dr. Alexandra Craciun trained at the Université de Montréal and completed a general practice residency at McGill; her interests are oral surgery, endodontics and prosthodontics.
